“We were able to pivot and reinstall our claims within 72 hours of implementation. So, it really helped us keep revenue going out and cash coming in the door,” says Shawn McCardell, AVP of Revenue Cycle at Frederick Health. “We are a Meditech shop, and Waystar was the one who was above and beyond with Meditech integration — and ultimately provides a better patient experience throughout the whole revenue cycle.”
Now, the health system is benefiting from expedited authorizations to prevent denials from the start.
“What gets me excited about the future is the Waystar tools to automatically check the authorizations, automatically submit the authorizations, get the returns back, and then really focus on those core things they need to do, which is the denials or the appeals,” says McCardell. “So from my perspective, it’s going to free up their time to allow them to focus on what really needs to happen and what work is important to them.”
